The long anticipated Cup Final day was here for the Haslingden Hawks. Coach Tim didn't don his cream three-piece suit, but the girls were raring to go anyway. As the crowds gathered Isabelle Dawson went in goal with Izzy Dunn and Zoe Green in defence. Phoebe Williams, Sienna Limbert, and Fern Ashworth started the game in midfield with Emily Blackburn upfront. Meadow Young, Poppy Millard, Alex Wilkinson, and Daisy Halewood started as subs. The Hawks were also joined by Eve Hadley as second in command to Coach Tim whilst she continues to recover from a broken arm.

Haslingden Hawks started strong and organised themselves well. The first goal of the game came on 9 minutes following a corner from Ashfield and scored from Green. The game settle down with the score finely poised for an exciting cup final game. Both teams were working hard to find a second goal but it was Haslingden who scored next on 32 minutes when a cross came in from the right and the Millard slotted it in the back of the net. Williams and Limbert provided strong support in midfield which resulted in goals for Haslingden Hawks. Dunn and Green had a solid game in defence which allowed the girls to push further. The first half finished with the Haslingden Hawks in the driving seat.

The second half started quick and strong with a third goal from Blackburn on 33 minutes. Mid way through the second half Ashworth had a fantastic shot which unfortunately hit the cross bar. Not long after Blackburn nearly added another goal but just caught caught the woodwork. Young and and Halewood added further support in defence throughout the game with Wilkinson pushing in midfield.

The final goal of the game came from Limbert on 55 minutes sealing the win for the Haslingden Hawks and a great end to the season. Well done girls!
