The snow break didn’t hold the Hawks back!

From the start, Eve Hadley went in goal with Izzy Dunne and Zoe Green in defence. Phoebe Williams and Sienna Lambert went in midfield with Alex Wilkinson and Fern Ashworth upfront. Poppy Millard, Meadow Young, and Daisy Halewood started the game as subs.

The Hawks organized themselves in to the game extremely well with great positioning and intelligent passing. They were rewarded for their efforts on 7 minutes when Wilkinson scored Their training is certainly showing in their play as they continued to attack the opposition end. Wilkinson scored again on 18 minutes giving Haslingden a strong hold on the game
Dunne and Green had a great game in defence and allowed the other girls to push up the pitch to create a real attacking format. Ashworth was proving difficult to handle putting in some good crosses in to the box.

Millard, Young, and Halewood came on from the subs bench, but the changes didn’t hamper the girl’s efforts and they continued to push in the game. Towards the end of the first half, Pendle Forest were starting to attack more and the Hawks had to work hard to defend well. Young had some great changes and effective tackles; you couldn’t spot this was her first game for the Hawks.

The second half started well from both sides but it was Millard for the Hawks who scored first on 30 minutes. This sparked a flurry of goals with Williams adding a fifth on 31 minutes and Millard scoring again on 32 minutes. Halewood added fantastic support in this half which allowed the chances for the Hawks to flow.

Pendle Forest had a stand in goalkeeper which made it all the more difficult for them, but undeterred Pendle push forward attacking in a positive manor more. They had several chances and were rewarded with their first goal on 41 minutes.

It was a great game of football in the second half with great chances from both teams. Hadley had a great game in goal to keep the score in the Hawks’ favour. It was Pendle Forest who scored the last goal of the game on 49 minutes and finishing the game on. A great game from the girls.
